Biodecoding and alopecia: What is the relationship between emotions, habits, and hair health?

Recently, we had on the podcast "VIVE JOVEN" from SIIL Paco Vinagre. He talked to us about biodecoding and how emotions can directly influence our health, both mental and physical.

As a result of this interesting talk, which left us "scratching our heads" (and not from itching ;) ), we wanted to delve a little deeper into this complementary therapy and discover its approach to the very common problem that concerns us at Get Siil: hair loss and alopecia.

What does biodecoding say about these specific hair disorders?  But let's take it step by step.

First, let's see what exactly biodecoding is, what it is based on, and what its main foundations are.

What is biodecoding?

Biodecoding is a therapeutic proposal that seeks to identify and understand the emotional origin of diseases.

According to this discipline, physical symptoms are not only imbalances in the body, but also "signals" of unresolved internal conflicts.

In other words, biodecoding is based on the idea that our emotional conflicts —such as internal blockages or repressed emotions— can end up manifesting as symptoms or physical diseases.

Principles of biodecoding

These are some of the principles on which biodecoding is based as an emotional therapy:

  • Relationship between emotions and diseases: It starts from the premise that each physical ailment is related to a specific emotional conflict.

  • Influence of the unconscious: It is believed that the unconscious holds emotional memories that, without us realizing it, can affect our physical and mental well-being.

  • Emotional inheritance: According to biodecoding, unresolved emotional patterns can be transmitted from generation to generation.

Disease is not inherited, but rather the unmanaged emotions that can lead to that disease.

  • Healing through awareness: By finding and releasing the hidden emotional conflict or blockage, the possibility opens up for the body to initiate a healing process.

Biodecoding's vision on alopecia

From the perspective of biodecoding, hair loss is not just a physical problem, but also a manifestation of unresolved emotional conflicts. It is mainly associated with emotions related to protection, fear, self-image, or stress.

In other words, alopecia could be interpreted as a response of the body to a internal emotional burden.

Some of the possible emotional causes, according to biodecoding, are:

  • Intense fear or feeling of being unprotected: Hair loss could symbolize a loss of security or the need to create a "shell" to protect oneself.

"Since hair and fur are an additional protection for the skin, losing it indicates that the person is shedding their protection. After an incident or making a decision, this person feels unprotected and has many fears, including the fear of not being able to manage alone."*

  • Identity or self-image conflicts: Alopecia may be linked to self-esteem issues or the feeling of not recognizing oneself.

  • Extreme stress or emotional shock: Traumatic situations or very intense experiences can trigger a biological response that weakens the hair.

  • Unconscious family loyalties: From a transgenerational perspective, hair loss could reflect an inherited emotional pattern within the family.

(Bio)decoding my baldness

Within biodecoding, one of the approaches that would explain alopecia is the existence of separation conflicts.

Let me explain.

In alopecia, when a person suffers hair loss without a clear medical or nutritional cause, biodecoding suggests that this loss could be related to a separation conflict.

This conflict may relate to situations such as a divorce, the loss of a loved one, or the distancing from someone with whom there was a strong emotional bond.

According to this discipline, separation conflicts particularly affect the skin and scalp, as they are ectodermal tissues.

When these tissues enter a state of stress, they can ulcerate, leaving the sensitive fibers exposed.

This ulceration is interpreted as a biological strategy: the body seeks to "feel more", or more intensely, and to remain alert to loss, as an attempt to adapt to the environment.

However, as a side effect of this biological reaction, hair loss occurs.

How is this process reversed?

The primary objective of biodescoding is to identify the unconscious emotional conflict —hidden— that may be behind the problem of alopecia, in this case a conflict related to a separation.

Once made conscious, work is done to release its impact on the body and thus promote the natural recovery of hair.

To achieve this, various techniques are used such as hypnosis, NLP (neuro-linguistic programming), transgenerational therapy, and other tools that allow exploring the link between emotions and health.

Sun and movement: how our habits affect hair

Beyond the emotional level, we know that our lifestyle also influences —and a lot— hair health.

Nowadays, we spend a good part of our time indoors, in closed spaces with artificial light and with hardly any contact with the sun or nature.

This disconnection from the body's natural rhythms can affect overall well-being and, in some cases, promote the appearance of problems such as alopecia.

That’s why, recovering the natural is key.

Habits such as exercising outdoors and being moderately exposed to the sun —even allowing the scalp to receive it directly— are essential from both the biodescoding perspective and from an integrative approach, which considers the relationship between the physical, lifestyle habits, emotions, and hair well-being.

It is also essential to maintain a healthy diet —real— (more details, details) and manage emotional stress adequately, which remains one of the major risk factors for hair health.

Conclusion: an integrative approach to understanding alopecia

Although alopecia has multiple causes: genetic, hormonal, autoimmune, nutritional, etc., biodescoding invites us to look beyond the physical symptom and ask ourselves what "message" may be behind hair loss.

Is there a repressed emotion? An unresolved conflict? A need to adapt to a loss or separation?

Although this approach does not replace a correct diagnosis, it can offer a new complementary perspective, deeper insights into hair health.

Additionally, taking care of our lifestyle, our daily habits —eating well, moving, reconnecting with nature, and managing stress— not only improves our overall health but can also be key to preventing or alleviating alopecia.

In short, understanding the body as a whole —where the physical, emotional, and environmental aspects interrelate— allows us to make more informed decisions, take care of ourselves from a broader perspective, and perhaps begin to heal from the inside out.
